West Ham United want to bring in Italian striker Simone Zaza say Sport Mediaset (quoted by the Daily Mirror), with the striker struggling to find a place for himself at his current club, Juventus. The Hammers want to complete a loan deal for the 24-year-old international.

West Ham’s chase for a striker has been well-documented this summer, with Javier Hernandez possibly the most heavily-linked player, although he looks set to be given a chance at Manchester United, instead of being allowed to depart for Upton Park.
But in Zaza, The Hammers might have the man they’ve been looking for all summer. He’s spent the last two years playing for Sassuolo, helping them narrowly avoid relegation from Serie A in his first campaign, before guiding them to a mid-table finish last year.

He scored 20 league goals for the club during his two seasons there, causing Juventus to exercise their €18 million offer for the striker this summer. However, with the alternatives available to Massimiliano Allegri, Zaza will find it difficult to break into the team, and West Ham are ready to pounce.
Slaven Bilic’s team have allegedly already made an offer of €3 million (£2.2 million) to take the ex-Sampdoria striker on loan for the season, with an option to purchase at the end for €15 million (£11 million). Zaza’s agent is supposedly in London negotiating a loan deal with the Hammers, who expect to complete the deal before the Liverpool game this weekend.
