Tottenham may still be struggling to find a buyer for Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor, after The Telegraph reported that West Ham have done a big u-turn and now don’t want to bring in the former Arsenal and Manchester
City man, despite it looking like a deal was close to completion.
The Telegraph say that a move to take the striker to Upton Park was almost finalised, but The Hammers called it off in part due to his £110,000 per week wages, which the club would have to pick up if he was signed on a free transfer from Spurs. His contract expires next summer, but he has no future at White Hart Lane, and Tottenham are willing to let him go for free after four years at the club.
West Ham are still looking to bring in a striker, and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez had been heavily linked after a loan spell at Real Madrid last summer. However, he made his first appearance of the season for The Red Devils in the Champions League on Tuesday, and with Louis van Gaal’s team yet to bring in a new striker, the Mexico star is likely to stay in the north-west.
