It is being reported by HITC that West Ham’s defensive midfielder Diego Poyet will join Championship side Milton Keynes Dons on a season-long loan. The 20-year old, who is the son of former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet, has fallen down the pecking order at Upton Park after the signings of players such as Pedro Obiang. Because of this, Slaven Bilic is ‘happy’ to let him join the MK Dons.
His availability has forced the hand of many Championship clubs and it is believed other teams are ready to make bids for him, but the Dons are still in prime position and this will please manager Karl Robinson.
Poyet, who joined from Charlton Athletic last summer, has made a couple of first-team appearances and has impressed fans with his composure at a young age, but a loan spell at a side who are renowned for the excellent coaching of young players will do him a lot of good.
The Uruguayan is no stranger to loan spells, he spent a couple of months at Chris Powell’s Huddersfield Town last season so he should adapt quickly when he joins Milton Keynes.
