West Ham United could once again be back in with a chance of bringing in Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic say Inside Futbol, after Hamburg confirmed they won’t be bringing him in, despite it looking like the Croatian could be on his way to the Bundesliga.
The Barca youngster had been previously linked with West Ham and Everton, but instead looked likely to complete a loan move elsewhere, first being linked with Celta Vigo and then Hamburg.
However, West Ham could make a reinvigorated bid for the 19-year-old, with Hamburg having pulled out.
They released a statement about the Croat, which said “we have reached a decision on Alen Halilovic from FC Barcelona and he will not be loaned.”
“We cannot guarantee him enough playing time.“
The Hammers have already made nine signings this summer, but Halilovic signing on a likely season-long loan deal would take that up to an even ten under new manager Slaven Bilic.
With Barcelona’s ‘B’ side in the last year, Halilovic has managed to make 30 appearances in the Liga Adelante but is yet to make his La Liga debut in the senior team.
