As West Ham’s search for a striker continues, sources tell us Aston Villa target Emmanuel Adebayor wants to make the move across London.
The Mirror and the Birmingham Mail tell us the Tottenham striker stalled a move to Aston Villa due to wanting a move to West Ham.
Following a deadline deal between the clubs breaking down last season, West Ham are hopeful they will be able to agree a loan deal with the player this month. However due to a poor relationship between the clubs it may be hard to strike up a deal.
Back in January, West Ham and Tottenham tried to agree a deal for the African striker, but after David Gold told supporters to wait up, Daniel Levi decided he did not want his player making the move to the Irons, even though agreements had already been made. This angered the West Ham co-chairman, leading to him showing his emotion on Twitter.

West Ham are still hoping to sign Mexican forward Javier Hernandez from Manchester United, but the Red Devils are insistent in that he is not for sale, making Adebayor a good alternative.

A deal had been made between Tottenham and Aston Villa, following Mauricio Pochettino stating Adebayor had no future at White Hart Lane, and forcing him out of first team training. The deal with the Midlands looked likely as Adebayor travelled to Villa’s training ground, Bodymoor Heath and held talks with former boss Tim Sherwood. However, due to him keeping the waiting clearly in a hope of a move elsewhere, they moved on to other targets.
