The agent of Inter Milan full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio will be fly to London in the coming days to meet with West Ham officials, according to Rai Sport.
D’Ambrosio has been regularly linked to a number of English clubs this summer as he has been deemed surplus to requirements at Roberto Mancini’s Inter.
Tottenham Hotspur were interested along with West Ham and the Hammers now seem to be in pole position to land the 26-year-old as they seek to increase their strength and depth due to their participation in the 2015/16 Europa League.
Signing D’Ambrosio would represent somewhat of a coup for Slaven Bilic. His presence in the squad could prove extremely useful throughout the course of a season jam-packed with midweek games from cup competitions and European outings.
Not only that, but D’Ambrosio would provide a great deal of versatility as he has played on the left-hand side of midfield in the famous Italian formation 3-5-2 which was used regularly during his four year spell at Torino between 2010 and 2014.
