  • The Irons are deep in a Premier League relegation battle this season

West Ham United are deep in a Premier League relegation fight this season but are giving themselves a good chance and currently control their own destiny. A 2-1 win over Everton last weekend means the Hammers are two points above the drop zone as they face Brentford on Saturday.

Jarrod Bowen, who got two assists in the win over Everton, already has his name in West Ham folklore after his winning goal in Europe, but the 29-year-old could make some more Irons history this month.

This season, Bowen’s role has not diminished and the attacker is a huge part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s resurgent team in 2026. Whilst the 29-year-old believes he can do better, he may on the verge of breaking records and that’s not just with keeping the Hammers up.

This season, Bowen is leading West Ham‘s goal involvement charts by some distance. The 29-year-old has scored 10 goals and got 11 assists this season, giving him the most joint assists of a season in his Hammers career.

Callum Wilson is second in the goal scoring department and the forward has played a bit part goal, showing just how important the impact of Bowen has been this season. Whilst the goals have been the most important part of the Irons captain, it is in assist where he can make history.

Bowen could become the first West Ham player to register 50 assists for the club in the top flight. The 29-year-old currently sits on 48 assists with four game left this season and it feels unlikely that the Hammers can stay up without input from the attacker.

Not only would breaking the record put Bowen into the Irons records books and keep the team in the Premier League but it could help the player get into the England squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The former Hull City player leads Englishmen in goal involvements in the top flight this season and is pushing for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
