  • West Ham eyeing move for Nicolas Jackson
  • The forward is on-loan at Bayern Munich
  • The Hammers are in the market for a striker this summer

West Ham United are making in roads in a highly competitive Premier League survival fight. A 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday keeps the Hammers out of the bottom three and two points above rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Whilst attention on the pitch remains on the task in hand, off it, eyes are on creating a team that can avoid this situation next season, should West Ham confirm top flight survival this season.

According to CaughtOffside, the Hammers are looking into a move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on-loan at Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions do have an option to make the deal permanent but are not expected do so, meaning the forward would return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Irons have long had a striker issue, with on Michail Antonio occupying the role for a long time over the last ten years. West Ham believe Jackson could be a viable option, but face a battle to convince the player to move to the London Stadium.

West Ham target Nicolas Jackson

With Jackson expected to return to Chelsea in the summer, his future with the Blues is uncertain with the team having already moved on in their striking options.

With the 24-year-old effectively in the shop window, it has opened up the door to other Premier League sides, including West Ham. The problem for the Hammers is simply, how to convince Jackson to make the move, given he has played Champions League football over the past season.

The Senegal international netted 10 Premier League goals in his last full season with Chelsea and scored another 10 for Bayern Munich this season.

Now, with Jackson returning, the transfer frenzy can begin, with West Ham facing competition from Newcastle United and Aston Villa. There is also interest from around Europe but the player appears to favour England’s top flight.
