- West Ham host Everton tomorrow in the Premier League
- It ended 1-1 the last time these two met earlier in the season
- The Hammers could move five points clear of the bottom three
West Ham United host Everton in the Premier League tomorrow, looking to open up the gap between them and the bottom three. The Hammers are coming off a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace but remain confident they can extend their two point advantage over Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team remain full of confidence, but the visit of Everton presents a new test. The Toffees may be coming off the back of a difficult Merseyside derby defeat but remain in contention for Europe this season.
Not only that but David Moyes, now Everton manager, is return to West Ham and will no doubt want to get one over his former side. Both team’s still have a lot at stake, making things all that harder for the Irons.
Chris Sutton predicts West Ham vs Everton
The last time these two teams met, it ended 1-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Michael Keane opened the scoring in the first-half, before Jarrod Bowen netted in the second to secure a point for the Hammers in Nuno’s first game in charge.
In his usual prediction column for BBC Sport, Chris Sutton has said that West Ham won’t win tomorrow and has outlined why.
“What a great game this will be, with Everton boss David Moyes going back to his old club.
“We know how big a win would be for West Ham in their relegation fight but I was impressed by Everton against Liverpool, especially Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s performance.
“I thought the Hammers’ point at Palace last time out was a decent result, but the pressure is still on them to win this one at home.
“I am expecting West Ham to play with the kind of intensity that is required but Everton can be a tough nut to crack.
“It finished 1-1 when these two sides met earlier in the season, and this smells of another draw to me.”
