Ref watch: Match Officials confirmed for Liverpool vs West Ham

West Ham United’s survival campaign continues as they head to Liverpool this weekend. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are coming off a 0-0 draw with AFC Bournemouth, as the Hammers continue to impress defensively. Liverpool beat Nottingham Forest 1-0, with a late goal from Alexis Mac Allister, doing a the Irons a favour in the process.

The pair of results leaves West Ham two points from safety behind Forest. A win at Anfield could take Nuno’s team out of the bottom three but the Reds are also chasing points, with Arne Slots side three points off the Champions League places.

Match Officials

Referee: Tim Robinson

Assistant Referees: Richard West and Marc Perry

Fourth Official: Chris Kavanagh

VAR: Michael Salisbury

Assistant VAR: Adrian Holmes

Tim Robinson will take charge of West Ham’s match with Liverpool on Saturday. The 42-year-old has been a Premier League manager since December 2019, where his first game in the top flight was a 1-0 win for Burnley over Newcastle United.

Since then, Robinson has taken charge of 42 Premier League games, including four that have involved the Hammers. The 42-year-old’s most recent game with West Ham was the sides 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town last season.

Robinson’s last match with Liverpool involved was their opening day win last season, also over Ipswich. The referee has taken charge of four Liverpool games in his career, the same number as he has with West Ham.

Assisting Robinson will be Richard West and Marc Perry. 50-year-old West has been an assistant referee since 2008, officiating in 337 Premier League games to date.

West has run the line at 53 Liverpool matches, including their 4-1 defeat of the Hammers in 2018.

Perry is also an experience head, with over 300 Premier League games under his belt. His record includes West Ham’s games with Leeds United, Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley this season.

The fourth official for Saturday’s game will be Chris Kavanagh.

Kavanagh has worked his way up the ranks as a referee, first officiating in the top flight in 2017, where he has gone on to cover over 200 games.

Outside of the Premier League, Kavanagh has officiated the 2024 Carabao Cup Final and the 2021 and 2025 EFL Championship playoff finals.

VAR

On VAR duties will be Michael Salisbury and Adrian Holmes. Salisbury was in the same role for West Ham’s 3-2 loss to Chelsea last month.

Salisbury has been a regular in the VAR seat this season, covering 16 Premier League games, in addition to 11 in the UEFA Champions League, and 26 in total in European competitions.

Holmes will assist Salisbury, having been in that seat for 39 total Premier League games, including the Hammers 2-1 loss to Leeds United earlier this season.
