West Ham reportedly failed in a late attempt to sign Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.
The Hammers ended the January transfer window without a single signing despite the apparent need for attacking and defensive reinforcements.
Having failed to land a frontman, Michail Antonio will see out the remainder of the season as the only senior recognised centre-forward.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, as cited by journalist Jack Rosser on Twitter, there was a last-ditch move for Zapata.
West Ham made late contact with Atalanta over Duvan Zapata, but there was not enough time for a deal to be done.

The report claims that ‘contact’ was made between the two clubs for the 34-cap ace but there was ‘not enough time’ to bring the 30-year-old to the London Stadium.
So far this term Zapata has scored 12 times and provided seven assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £29.7million and under contract in Italy until 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing the Colombian star would have been a superb piece of business.
Instead, perhaps due to leaving matters too late, the Irons saw attempts to land Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Zapata all fall by the wayside.
Boasting 105 Serie A goals in an impressive career to date, the powerful striker would’ve been amongst the ideal candidates to supplement Antonio.
Whilst this could be a move that is revisited in the summer, that’s far from the opportune moment as Moyes now has little in the way of options.
