West Ham face Leeds United in the FA Cup third round and will be hoping to progress beyond the stage for a fifth consecutive season.
Last season the Hammers were eliminated in the fifth round by Manchester United after extra time.
This term David Moyes will be keen to go further again as the Irons continue their upwards trajectory as a side.
Writing in his BBC Sport prediction column, Mark Lawrenson has tipped West Ham to have too much for their Premier League visitors.
West Ham and Leeds meet again in the Premier League next week. I am guessing they will both make changes for this one and, although the Hammers need to add to their squad this month, I would still say they have more depth than Leeds right now.
Lawrenson backed the hosts to prevail 2-0.
Earlier this season it was Moyes’ men who prevailed 2-1 following an enthralling clash at Elland Road.
For this contest at the London Stadium, the likes of Nikola Vlasic, Mark Noble and Alex Kral could feature as the Scottish manager warns against fixture pile-up.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Both sides have been stretched in recent weeks, perhaps Leeds more than most in the country.
That will likely lead to changes and possibly chances in an all-top flight encounter.
Albeit not the top priority in East London this term, the Hammers will be desperate for silverware in any format and the FA Cup presents a viable opportunity.
