West Ham have reportedly ‘made an enquiry’ to sign Lille central defender Sven Botman.
Irons’ boss David Moyes will likely attempt to strengthen the defensive department in January having lost Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna for a prolonged period.
Linked with a host of possible candidates in recent weeks, 21-year-old Dutch starlet Botman is also seemingly on the radar in East London.
That’s according to a report from 90min, as cited by West Ham News & Views on Twitter.

The report claims that the nine-cap Holland ace is also amongst the ‘main targets’ for mega-rich Newcastle United.
So far this season Botman has earned a 6.96 Sofascore rating from 11 Ligue 1 outings.

Valued at £27million and under contract in France until 2025 (Transfermarkt), bringing the Dutchman to the London Stadium would likely be an expensive outlay for the club.
However, given the age of the defender and high ceiling, West Ham would be solving an immediate problem whilst also planning for the future.
Strong aerially and dangerous in both penalty areas, Botman looks purpose-built to play in a Moyes led side.
