Jamie O’Hara praises ‘absolutely brilliant’ Declan Rice

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has been lauding West Ham star Declan Rice

The Hammers overcame Spurs this weekend thanks to a winner from Michail Antonio late on at the London Stadium.

Rice was once again at the forefront of the display as David Moyes’ side moved into the Premier League top four.

Speaking on talkSPORT (25/10/2021 8.40am), O’Hara was full of praise for the 22-year-old.

Declan Rice is absolutely fantastic. I love watching him play. He gets up and down, talk about high intensity – he’s up there with the best in the league. His anticipation of danger is what I love about him, he’s not like a destroyer, he can but it is not something he does. He anticipates danger on the pitch, he’s always in the right position and he doesn’t get beat one on one.

Co-host and legendary Rangers striker Ally McCoist backed up O’Hara by insisting Rice had been ‘superb’ this season.

So far this term the midfielder has earned an impressive 7.31 Sofascore rating from nine league outings.

This is some outstanding backpedalling from O’Hara following his early-season relegation prediction

All jokes aside, however, Rice is enjoying a wonderful start to the 2021/22 campaign and will be hopeful of inspiring the Irons to a continued push for elite European qualification.

Given the workload placed on the Englishman’s shoulders, it’ll be an interesting decision as to whether include the ace against Manchester City this week.
