West Ham consider loan move for teenager Armstrong Okoflex

West Ham are reportedly considering options to allow Armstrong Okoflex to leave on loan in January.

The 19-year-old could be sent out to obtain first-team minutes having made a bright start to the new season for the Hammers’ Under 23 side.

Signed during the summer following the expiry of a contract at Celtic, Okoflex was described as a ‘very dangerous player’ by coach Dmitri Halajko.

According to a report from Football London, the club are weighing up a temporary departure for the match-winning hero in the Football League Trophy.

Capped by England and the Republic of Ireland at Under 16 level, the Dublin-born starlet could represent either nation on the senior stage.

This season, Okoflex has managed four goals and one assist in seven appearances – including a hat-trick against former youth club, Arsenal, in the Premier League 2.

This signing already looks to be bearing promising fruit in east London.

Boasting excellent attacking versatility, Okoflex had already made a senior bow in the Scottish Premiership for the Hoops.

Seemingly the next step in the starlet’s development, a six-month switch to either a Championship or League One club could see the teenager return to represent the Irons’ next term.
