Former Premier League midfielder Don Hutchinson has claimed West Ham are now acting like a ‘big club’ in the Premier League.
The Hammers have made a bright start to the 2021/22 campaign having overachieved in many people’s eyes last season.
David Moyes’ side shocked the top flight when achieving a sixth-place finish last term and subsequently earned a place in the Europa League.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hutchinson was full of admiration for the current status in east London.
The culture has changed at West Ham – you can feel it now. I think for the first time in a long, long time, West Ham now think they’re a big club. That’s from the top, the manager, the coaching staff to the players. The fans are incredible. Love all the away fans at Elland Road, I’ve been really impressed. Everyone would agree when you watch them now, they wouldn’t have won that game four, five years ago. You look at them under David Moyes, with (Michail) Antonio back in the squad that he has built. They work incredibly hard.
The 50-year-old pundit went on to hail Jarrod Bowen as a ‘manager’s dream’ for his work ethic towards the cause.
Moyes’ side welcomes Rapid Vienna to the London Stadium on Thursday, hoping to earn a second win in Group H.

It has long since been the case that the Irons’ are that ‘big club’ in waiting.
With a superb fan base and glorious history, a return to the heady days of previous eras always seemed possible.
Competing in the upper echelons domestically and back in Europe should rightly instil a certain mentality at all involved.
