West Ham are believed to have missed out on Clermont 63 striker Mohamed Bayo this summer.
Despite a busy end to the transfer window, the Hammers ended up without a recognised frontman arrival at the London Stadium.
This leaves David Moyes with only Michail Antonio as an out and out central option following the January departure of Sebastien Haller.
According to a report from Le10 Sport, as cited by Louis (West Ham Central) on Twitter, the Irons had considered a move for Guinea international, Bayo.

The report claims that the Irons were alongside Anderlecht, Bordeaux, Lyon and Lille in showing an interest in the 23-year-old – although none of the aforementioned clubs were willing to reach £9million.
Last season Bayo scored a remarkable 22 goals in Ligue 2 whilst adding seven assists in a promotion-winning campaign.
So far this term in the top flight, the centre-forward has netted three and registered two assists in the opening four fixtures.

Valued at £5.4million and under contract until 2023 in France (Transfermarkt), paying £9million for the in-form Guinean would’ve been considered a bargain.
Overall Bayo has scored 42 goals in 88 club appearances – underlining the very strong finishing, heading and key passing attributes cited (WhoScored).
Albeit the summer business was ultimately impressive, there is certainly a striker missing from Moyes’ perfect squad.
