West Ham are hoping to make late squad additions in the summer transfer window as the Premier League gets underway once again.
Irons’ boss David Moyes is in danger of seeing the squad stretched thin as the season wears on with the added workload of Europa League football.
One reported target, Cologne midfielder Ellyes Skhiri has perhaps alerted the Hammers to a potential move this week.
The 26-year-old has admitted to German outlet told BILD, as cited by Louis (West Ham Central), that he is ‘open’ to a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer.

The 36 times capped Tunisia international spoke of taking the next step should a ‘good opportunity’ present itself and a desire to play in a European competition.
Last season, Skhiri scored five times and added three assists in 32 Bundesliga outings.

Valued at £9million and under contract in Germany until 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing the Tunisian midfielder could be a relatively inexpensive outlay for the east Londoners.
Recently it was reported that Cologne rejected a bid of £6.7million from Lyon for their versatile ace.
Predominantly a defensive midfield, Skhiri would present outstanding cover for both Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek whilst also being capable of filling in across other positions.
