Just five days until the new Premier League season begins and West Ham are still without a recognised striker to support Michail Antonio.
Despite calls for an immediate Sebastien Haller replacement back in January, the Hammers rallied to finish the season in impressive fashion without additional attacking options.
Many may have expected a resolution early in the summer as David Moyes plans for a domestic campaign coupled with a Europa League adventure.
However, the Irons remain without suitable reinforcements and could be reliant on Antonio once again for the opening weeks at least.
The latest name to excite the West Ham faithful is Torino frontman, Andrea Belotti, after the Italian star reportedly turned down a new deal to stay at the Serie A club.
Previously the Hammers were installed as favourites to sign the 27-year-old and this has led to plenty of hope a deal could be done.

Belotti made six appearances during Italy’s successful European Championship this summer following a 13 goal and seven assist league campaign in 2020/21.

Signing the Torino club captain once described as being ‘better than Gabriel Batistuta’ by Fabio Capello would be a huge statement from the club.
Capped on 39 occasions by Italy, the powerful frontman looks to be the perfect fit for Moyes’ style and would likely push Antonio for a starting berth from the outset.
Valued at £31.5million and in the final 12 months of a deal in Turin (Transfermarkt), landing the 150 career goal ace for anything close to the mooted £15million is a no-brainer.
