Major West Ham summer target Jesse Lingard is reportedly set to be offered a new three-year deal by Manchester United.
The 28-year-old has one year to run on his existing contract at Old Trafford after the ace’s parent club triggered an extension prior to the loan exit to the Hammers.
Lingard arrived in east London on transfer deadline day and proved to be an instant hit for the Irons.
Manager David Moyes has previously expressed a desire to make the England man a permanent feature at the London Stadium.
However, according to a report from the Daily Star, as cited by PF | Transfer News on Twitter, West Ham could have their work cut out.

Lingard scored nine times and registered five assists in 16 Premier League appearances for the Hammers – helping inspire Europa League qualification.
That form earned the 29-cap attacking midfielder an England recall back in March before ultimately narrowly missing out on the Euro 2020 squad and an ‘amazing’ tag from Rio Ferdinand.

Signing Lingard was always likely to be a tough task this summer, despite the clear turnaround in fortunes.
Valued at £19.8million (Transfermarkt), Manchester United had placed a premium asking price on their star’s head on the back of a superb spell.
Victims of that successful stint, with Moyes likely to prioritise a centre-back and striker arrival, sanctioning a £30million deal for Lingard may prove difficult.
