West Ham could still be interested in pursuing a summer transfer for Red Bull Salzburg sensation Patson Daka.
The Hammers have long since been credited with holding a fondness in the Zambian forward but were believed to face fierce competition from a number of elite European clubs.
That still rings true as journalist Ekrem Konur claimed on Twitter that RB Leipzig are chasing the 22-year-old.
However, there remains hope for the Irons as the Turkish reporter added later that David Moyes and co still hold their interest, as confirmed by Ronan Murphy.

West Ham are certainly in dire need of a striking addition this summer having allowed Sebastien Haller to leave in January for Ajax.
This season Daka has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence in Austria – scoring 34 goals and registering 12 assists in 42 outings.

Capped 22 times by Zambia at senior level, the £18million valued striker is already making a burgeoning name for himself despite his fledgeling years.
Despite the continued interest, unfortunately, West Ham could struggle to prize themselves between Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig should there be a desire to get that deal done.
The two clubs have become almost renowned for transfers with one another, a habit the Hammers would likely have to break the bank in order to halt.
That said, Daka is exactly the type of player Moyes needs in his squad at the London Stadium – making any potential move a priority.
