Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been singing the praises of a West Ham duo during Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football makeshift awards night.
As both Carragher and Gary Neville picked their individual awards and Premier League Team of the Season, the former found space for Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek on the night.
The Czech Republic pair have played a major part in the Hammers’ improvement under David Moyes this season and have rightly been in receipt of plaudits from all over.
This time, Carragher saw fit to name Coufal as right back in his XI, whilst Soucek was named his Signing of the Season, having arrived on a permanent basis from Slavia Prague last summer.

The 43-year-old reserved special praise for Coufal on the show: “I love Coufal. I love him. He plays week in and week out and I know he’s not always eye-catching going forward but I think he’s been brilliant and sums up West Ham’s season.”

Both men have been superb this season and at a combined fee of a little under £20million, represent incredibly shrewd business from the Irons.
Despite the accolades of sorts, the pair need to produce one final push to ensure their hard work doesn’t go to waste and West Ham qualify for European competition next season.
