Former Premier League striker Dean Windass has dismissed the possibility that Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic could be set to make a sensational return to West Ham this summer.
This comes as reports have claimed the Hammers, along with Crystal Palace, have enquired as to the availability of the 32-year-old Austrian.
Currently plying his trade in China for Shanghai SIPG, Arnautovic could be looking for a return to the Premier League this summer, where he spent successful spells with the Irons and Stoke City.
However, Windass, who himself played 104 times in the top-flight, has this week told Transfer Tavern that a return to the London Stadium is a non-starter.
No chance. He left under a cloud. When he wanted to leave, he chucked his toys out the pram, so no.
Arnautovic left West Ham after months of conjecture involving his brother and agent Danijel Arnautovic.
After much deliberation and ill-feeling, ultimately the Irons gave in and the 87-cap Austria stalwart was granted his money-spinning move.

Signing Arnautvic would be thwarted with unnecessary risk for David Moyes.
Having left on his terms the first time around, the Scot would surely be wary of disrupting the harmony within the dressing room he has worked so hard to build.
Albeit a high-level performer on his day, potentially upsetting the applecart for Arnautovic seems like a gamble that simply isn’t worth taking.
