West Ham are reportedly on the verge of making their second January signing in the shape of RB Leipzig teenager Matthew Bondswell and many of the Irons faithful have been reacting to the news.
The deal was reported by Football Insider on Monday morning, with claims that the 18-year-old is set to undergo a medical early this week ahead of his move to east London.
A product of the Nottingham Forest youth system, Bondswell is a left-back who has represented England at under-18 level and will likely join the Hammers’ youth sides should the move pass without a hitch, whilst learning his trade from first team stalwart Aaron Creswell.
Far be it from time to be writing off Cresswell’s impact in David Moyes’ side, there is a general acceptance that a talented understudy was in order.
Irons fans everywhere will hope that Bondswell is the long-term successor at left-back and as such have been reacting to the news of the “highly-rated” talent’s impending arrival…
