West Ham could miss out on Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik, judging by the latest transfer update from Fabrizio Romano.
According to the Italian transfer expert, Ligue 1 side Marseille seem to have agreed a deal with Napoli for the striker. Both clubs are thrashing out the ‘last details’ of an agreement which would see Milik, who is out of contract in the summer, move to the south of France on an initial loan basis.
Romano has previously quoted Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who has publicly claimed to Sky Italia that Napoli were ‘in talks’ and will ‘decide soon’ over the future of Milik.

A later update from Romano then confirmed the news that a deal looks all but finalised to take the ex-Ajax target man to Ligue 1. Direct talks are set to continue, with a deal worth just €8m (£7.12m) and further add-ons to be agreed between the two clubs.

Napoli are said to be demanding a resale clause in order to insure against future profits made on the 26-year-old, who otherwise looks to be joining Marseille for a knockdown fee well below his market valuation.

It’s now or never for the Hammers.
Given the advanced nature of current talks, it would take serious movement from the Irons to persuade Napoli to cancel talks in favour of a new bid from the Hammers.
With no indication of further movements from the Hammers or indeed any other English side, it looks as though Marseille have won the race for Milik – at David Moyes’ expense.
