TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed West Ham remain ‘very keen’ on a move for AFC Bournemouth striker Josh King when appearing on the station on Wednesday 30th December 12.30pm.
Crook, who spoke to Hammers boss David Moyes in the wake of the 0-0 draw with Southampton, explained how the club have been working on a deal for King for a number of weeks and could make their interest concrete in the January window.
Speaking to Moyes on the possibility of mid-season arrivals despite the ‘financial restraints’ caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Scottish boss said: ”If we could bring in players like (Tomas) Soucek and (Jarrod) Bowen, then definitely.”
The aforementioned duo were both January arrivals at the London Stadium and have proven to be shrewd pieces of business by the club.
King, a Norweigan international, has struggled to kickstart his Championship campaign, albeit hampered by injury, an earlier desire to find a move, and a positive COVID-19 test earlier in the season.

West Ham were widely linked with a move for King during the summer and with the need for a striker possibly greater now – expect Moyes to revisit this potential deal.
With 48 Premier Legaue goals to his name including a one-season high of 16 back in 2016/17, the 28-year-old provides a tried and test top-flight operator.
Capable of playing across the frontline and with blistering pace, King is the ideal candidate to come in and put pressure on both the injury-hit Michail Antonio and the forever inconsistent Sebastien Haller.
