West Ham full-back Ryan Fredericks made a surprise return to the first-team fold on Tuesday night when he was handed a start against Southampton.
Having previously looked very much on the periphery of David Moyes’ plans and even on his way out of the London Stadium in many people’s eyes, Fredericks played 90 minutes and received the plaudits for his performance.
The 28-year-old has been a lesser-seen commodity following the arrival of Vladimir Coufal from Slavia Prague but looked as though he had never been away against the Saints.
Rated 7.36 by Whoscored.com – Fredericks made 11 crucial defensive decisions during his first 90 minutes since the middle of October.
Fredericks proved he still has plenty to offer to Moyes as he stepped into the breach with aplomb and these Hammers fans took to Twitter to praise the former Fulham man…
