In a welcome boost for West Ham, David Moyes’ men have a hidden trick up their sleeve as they look to claim all three points from Marcelo Bielsa’s free-flowing Leeds United side tomorrow night.
Friday night football returns at the denouement of the working week as the Hammers make the trip to the heart of Yorkshire in a bid to return victorious from Elland Road.
The Irons proudly boast Jarrod Bowen among their ranks, with the ex-Hull man on four goals and an assist in just 11 appearances this season. He has been noted for several key attributes such as ‘his directness, cutting inside and proficient shooting’ by one source – all of which were displayed prolifically at Hull City.
Indeed, these qualities meant it was a no-brainer that Premier League interest came knocking. This culminated with a move to the London Stadium on deadline day in January of this year.
Bowen, who joined the Hammers for £20m, has an esteemed history against Leeds. Just under two years ago, the Whites were felled by Hull after Bowen inspired his team to a 2-0 defeat of Bielsa’s side as he pounced twice on two loose balls to slot past the Leeds goalkeeper.
In that game, Bielsa opted for a back four of Luke Ayling, Pontus Jansson, Kalvin Phillips and Barry Douglas – two of whom remain at the club.

Caution should be noted; the current Leeds side is an altogether different beast to the one Bowen faced in 2018, although he goes into tomorrow’s game off the back of a strong start to this season.
In the probable absence of Michail Antonio, it is the 23-year-old winger to whom David Moyes could look to fire West Ham to victory in Yorkshire.
