In an exciting boost to a pivotal figure at the London Stadium, the West Ham board are reportedly keen to extend the deal of star shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski by at least two years, according to reputable Irons source Claret and Hugh.
The 55-capped Polish international has been a regular feature for the Hammers since joining from then-relegated Swansea in 2018 for a fee of £7.2 million and has featured 74 times for the Irons ever since.
The 35-year-old may well be set for an extension well into his late 30s amid this latest development – and it is not difficult to see why.
This season alone, Fabianski has managed to keep 4 clean sheets in 11 appearances for the Clarets and has kept 17 clean sheets in his career. Given the difficulty to attain such a feat, it is at least a partial insight into the impact that the Polish ‘keeper has had at the club.
However, there are a few other stars that have been tipped to leave the club who like Fabianski are also ordinarily out of contract in the summer. Ryan Fredericks and Robert Snodgrass are a pair tipped to be shown the exit door.

Fabianski may well be the Polish Buffon if the desire to extend his contract is fulfilled.
However, it is anything but a misguided desire; finding a goalkeeper is a costly and risky pursuit and given the goalkeeper’s age, it is unlikely that a significant fee could be commanded for selling the player on.
Hailed as ‘one of the best’ by Manuel Pellegrini, he is evidently a high-class ‘keeper.
Fabianski would likely be delighted to remain in the top flight, and a deal subsequently makes sense for all parties.
