West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna has been nominated for November’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
The nomination comes after the Hammers won all three of their games in the month, conceding just once and recording consecutive clean sheets prior to the 2-1 triumph over Aston Villa last Monday.
Ogbonna also chipped in with a goal as the Italian popped up to open the scoring in the embryonic minutes of that game earlier in the week.
In fact, the 34-year-old has been in fine form all season for David Moyes’ side – starting every match – and has an average rating of 6.89 with SofaScore, peaking at 7.5 in the Villa game.
Should Ogbonna take the accolade via the public vote, he would become the second West Ham this calendar year to receive the monthly award after Michail Antonio won it in July off the back of scoring eight goals that month. He has maintained that form into the current campaign, with three so far in 2020/21.

It is a well-deserved nomination for Ogbonna, who has been integral to the Irons’ early season form, although the defence as a whole could easily have been put forward after some sterling performances to a man.
The Italy international is going from strength to strength and has become an invaluable member of the West Ham squad this season in particular.
