West Ham will prioritise signing a striker in the summer, according to Claret & Hugh, who claim to have a contact with a senior source at the Hammers.
The team over at Hammers News suggest that this source is thought to be David Sullivan, although that remains unconfirmed.
West Ham spent a club-record fee of £45 million on Sebastien Haller in the summer, but the Hammers have still found goals hard to come by, as they’ve scored just 35 times in 29 league games.
As per the report from Claret and Hugh, it looks like the club will look to bring in another quality forward player to help Haller.
They say that a senior West Ham source has told them:
It’s essential that we bring [a goalscorer] in and it’s clear that is the priority.

After spending plenty of money in recent years, it’s bewildering why West Ham still look short in so many areas. It’s no surprise to see them looking to bring in another goalscorer, but their defence also needs some work.
The Hammers have conceded 50 league goals this season, only three teams have conceded more, and while some of those goals came as a result of a goalkeeper crisis, it’s still clear that the Hammers need defensive reinforcements, as well as a few more options in attack.
The priority, when the season resumes, will be to secure a place in the Premier League, and after that, thoughts will once again turn to the transfer window as the Hammers look to reinforce their squad.
