As reported on the Daily Mail, defender Jack Tucker could be offloaded by financially-struggling Gillingham and this could be the chance for West Ham to pounce.
As stated in the report, there’s also interest in the centre-back from Championship leaders Leeds United and Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.
The club has been plunged into financial difficulty after the suspension of all football in the country and when play eventually resumes, the League One club may need to sell their star man in order to balance the books.
Prior to the suspension, West Ham had already been monitoring Tucker as a potential target and this latest development could be the boost that the Hammers needed.

But would Tucker add value to the Hammers squad?
The centre-back has been a regular for Gillingham this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt), helping them to 11th place in League One.
We feel the 20-year-old could be a great signing for the Hammers because of his brilliant tackling ability and concentration, which WhoScored list as two of his biggest strengths.
Furthermore, manager David Moyes is keen to build a young squad, meaning Tucker could be the ideal man to come into the squad in place of 31-year-old Winston Reid, whose contract expires at the end of this season (Transfermarkt).
There could be concerns about his playing time, but we feel that the youngster just needs to look at the rise of Jeremy Ngakia and Declan Rice to be confident of getting a chance with the Hammers, especially if in-demand defender Issa Diop leaves the club.
