West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that Chelsea have been monitoring Declan Rice for a long time and ‘they really like him’.
The defensive midfielder, who was with the Blues as a schoolboy, was released and then snapped up by West Ham, where he has made a name for himself.

Rice has risen through the ranks with the Hammers and his impressive displays have also made him an England international, breaking into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports revealed that Chelsea are interested in signing Rice this summer and the Hammers insider confirmed the news, claiming that the London rivals have been keeping a close eye on the midfielder for some time.
Rice’s closest friend, Mason Mount, plays for the Blues and they could be reunited this summer, which should certainly disappoint Hammers fans.
Mainly because of Rice’s potential.
He’s still only 21 and is one of the first names on the teamsheet, proven by the fact he’s played every single minute of their Premier League campaign this term (Transfermarkt).
We feel he could go on to become one of the best players for the club in the Premier League era so to see that end prematurely will certainly be a bitter pill to swallow for some.
Furthermore, many Hammers fans see him as a potential captain of the team in years to come, so this revelation could hurt even more.
Rice is passionate about the Hammers and recently expressed his desire to lead the team forward, so seeing a rival club monitor him and try to snatch him away will obviously be painful.
