Hutton’s praise for Diop is totally justified

Former Premier League defender Alan Hutton has showered praise on West Ham United’s Issa Diop and we believe he deserves it.

The centre-back has put in some dominant displays at the back for the Hammers this season, resulting in plenty of interest in his services.

As reported on The Mirror, Arsenal want to sign him, as do FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid (Don Balon).

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said:

He’s a very good player, Man United were interested in the summer, there’s been a lot of talk surrounding him.

He’s a very good player, he’s still really young so I think as a player he’ll grow and become better.

We can honestly say, Diop deserves all the praise he gets.

He has been a consistently good performer this term, proven by the fact that he has won 100 duels, won 62 aerial battles and made 122 clearances (PremierLeague.com).

Furthermore, he has contributed well in an attacking sense.

The centre-back has found the back of the net three times for the Hammers this season, showing that he can have an impact at both ends of the pitch.

After arriving for a large fee, there was a lot of pressure on Diop but judging by his statistics so far this season, he’s dealt with that pressure and is focusing on improving his displays, so we feel he deserves the credit coming his way.
