Former Man City player Michael Brown has described West Ham man Grady Diangana as “unplayable at times” as he’s watched the player during his loan spell at West Brom.
The winger has been superb whislt on loan at West Brom, and has been a major reason as to why the Baggies sit top of the Championship.
Brown told Football Insider that he has been impressed watching Diangana play, and that he saw something special in him the very first time he watched him on the pitch.
I first seen him, there was a game against Macclesfield and I think they won 8-0 – I thought: ‘Who’s the kid coming in? Wow.’ He’s just so difficult to mark, left and right, and I thought, ‘this kid’s got something’.
It was Macclesfield, it was comfy but I just thought he had a bit, and then he got the chance to go from that game into the Premier League squads and he’d be drifting in and out, coming on.
It was probably only with the recruitment that West Ham had, the amount of players, that’s knocked him back slightly.
Looking at the way the season has gone, if he hadn’t had gone to West Brom, I think he would have played games in the Premier League but unfortunately you don’t see that as a player, you think: ‘I’ll go to a Championship club, I need to go and play games’.
Read West Ham’s verdict
The Hammers could have something special in Diangana, who has really broken out this season.
With five goals and six assists in 21 appearances for West Brom, Diangana has really taken to Championship football and he could be a huge asset next season for the Hammers, regardless of which division they are in.
He averages over 2.3 dribbles a game and has a pass percentage of 79.7 for Albion.
Diangana has to be kept at West Ham next season, in my opinion, as he’s clearly demonstrated that he has the ability to be a very good player, and West Ham need as many good players as they can get!
