Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly looking at a move for West Ham’s Nathan Holland, who is currently on loan at Oxford United.

Football Insider report that the midfielder has impressed the Owls a lot with his performances for promotion-chasing Oxford in League One and as such, the Yorkshire-based club could look to sign him in the summer.

Holland has struggled to break into the first-team at the Hammers but has performed superbly at Oxford, for who he scored in the FA Cup replay defeat to Premier League side Newcastle United.

The report indicated that the Hammers have been reluctant to give Holland a chance at playing Premier League football as they have concerns that he is too “lightweight” for the top flight.

Holland has performed very well since moving to Oxford, so it is not really a surprise to see thay he is attracting some interest.

He is a versatile player who can play on both wings and as a number 10, which means he could potentially be a great asset for the Hammers or whichever club signs him this summer.

But, should West Ham even be considering selling another youth prospect so early in their career?

Anthony Scully left the Hammers in January to join Lincoln City, whilst Martin Samuelsen joined Hull City on a permanent deal.

The West Ham academy has produced numerous talents across the years, but if they are simply wasted and not given a chance to impress, then it is all a a bit of waste of time, in our opinion.

Therefore, we think that West Ham should surely at least give Holland a chance to impress next season before making a final decision on his future
