Former West Ham striker Carlton Cole has called on Felipe Anderson to step up his game for West Ham and improve his performances.
Cole, speaking on Sky Sports’ Main Event Channel (10:45pm, 25 February), revealed that he believes that the Hammers need to see more from Anderson, who has failed to reproduce his numbers from last season so far this campaign.
The former West Ham striker said:
Felipe Anderson is a great player, but he’s not pulling his weight about at the moment. He should be doing a lot more because he’s got so much talent, but he didn’t really look bothered yesterday [against Liverpool].

The Hammers could really do with Anderson stepping up his game, as Cole mentions, especially with the club in the position they are in at the moment.
Anderson has only managed one goal and three assists so far, which is a huge downgrade on the numbers he achieved last season.
The Brazilian racked up nine goals and four assists in his debut Premier League campaign for the Hammers but has not been half the player this time around.
Therefore, if David Moyes is to inspire the Hammers to avoid the dreaded drop, then Cole, we feel is spot on is right.
Anderson, with the quality he has, may need to be one of the players to star over the coming months, and if he doesn’t, and the Hammers go down, then it is unrealistic he will be at the London Stadium next season due to his £85,000-a-week wage.
