West Ham fans have called on the club to hand an opportunity to youth team striker Xande Silva after his goal against Stoke City for the U23 side.
The forward scored the opener for the Hammers, in what would eventually end up being a 2-2 draw against the Potters.
Sean Adarkwa would get the other goal in the draw at the London Stadium in the Premier League’s reserve league.
Silva scored eight goals in seven appearances in Premier League 2 last season but saw himself pick up an injury earlier this season, limiting his appearances for the reserve side.
This comes with Sebastien Haller continuing to struggle upfront for the Hammers, scoring only six goals since moving to West Ham for over £45 million.
However, his performance last night impressed some West Ham fans, with a number of supporters taking to Twitter to reveal their desire to see the striker handed an opportunity in the first-team.
Twitter: @COYIrons_com I’d have him as the understudy to Haller rather than Ajeti 👌🏼 (@BoormanB)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com First team I hope (@krisbell77)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Give him a chance. Can’t do any worse than Haller (@nickjohns47)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com He should be in and around the first team! Don’t trust Moyes to do it though! So will probably leave (@calumv89)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Making a breakthrough next season after we have to sell everyone else because of relegation. (@deanashtonsfoot)
