Jarrod Bowen could be set to make his debut for West Ham on Wednesday evening, with the Hammers taking on Man City in their rearranged Premier League fixture.
The winger signed for West Ham on deadline day from Hull City for a reported £25 million but has yet to make an appearance for the Hammers after signing.
This is in large part due to the rearranged fixture, with West Ham’s original clash with Man City being postponed as a result of the conditions at the Etihad Stadium due to Storm Ciara.
Therefore, it seems likely that Bowen could make his debut for the Hammers on Wednesday evening, with the attacker reportedly impressing many players and staff in training.
But, should the attacker start in Manchester tomorrow?
Bowen has been an attacking star in the Championship, racking up an impressive 16 goals for Hull this season before making the move to West Ham.
He mainly plays down the right-hand side, with the majority of his goals and assists coming from there, which means that Robert Snodgrass could slip to the bench if Bowen comes into the side.
This is despite Snodgrass being in a good run of form as of late, with the Scot grabbing two goals and an assist in West Ham’s last game against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Despite this, in our opinion Jarrod Bowen simply can offer West Ham more, providing a huge goalscoring threat and also being able to assist in attacking play, with the six assists for Hull this season.
He also presents a fresh, new option for the Hammers, and just could be the spark they need to kick-start their season.
However, David Moyes may prefer to stick with Snodgrass for now, with the Scot being a familiar face in the West Ham side this season, after making 20 appearances so far this season.
The two are similar players, but we think Bowen has more attacking flair over Snodgrass and should be given a shot to impress at the Etihad.
