West Ham United supporters believe Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud could be a useful signing for the Hammers on transfer deadline day.
Giroud’s future at Chelsea remains up in the air and Football Insider claims that West Ham will make a late loan move to sign the World Cup winner.
A host of clubs have been linked with the striker recently, including Tottenham, Lazio and Inter, but he’s yet to finalise a move away, with Chelsea still searching for his potential replacement (Sky Sports).
The Blues remain in talks with Napoli’s Dries Mertens and if they can complete a deal for the Belgian, Giroud may be free to leave Stamford Bridge before tonight’s 11pm deadline (Sky Sports).
Giroud is out of favour under Frank Lampard this season – starting just twice in the Premier League so far (WhoScored).
Despite his lack of game time this season, these West Ham fans on Twitter think there could still be some value in a move for the experienced striker.
