It could be a busy climax to the winter transfer window for West Ham with up to four new signings being targeted, including two Chelsea stars.
Tomas Soucek could be announced as a West Ham player as early as this afternoon after a £13 million deal was agreed with Slavia Prague yesterday.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Hammers are hoping Soucek will be the first of up to four new arrivals before Friday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
The report claims the club are looking at signing a new right-back, as well as testing Chelsea’s resolve in loan moves for Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
If the report is to be believed, it’s refreshing to see West Ham willing to back David Moyes when he really needs it but is it too little too late?
The club has had a whole month to complete transfer dealings, so it seems just as confusing as it is unlikely to target cramming four arrivals in three days.
Although one of the deals is all-but completed, I can’t see Chelsea lending West Ham one of their players, nevermind two.
Overall, I think if the Hammers are to sign a further player beyond Soucek it’ll be a right-back, but the dealings will probably stop there.
It’s an unrealistic report but if the club can recruit one more player after the Czech Republic international, the window could be deemed a success.
