West Ham are keen to rival Everton for Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi.
That’s according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by Sports Witness, who claim that both Premier League sides, along with Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, are all interested in the World Cup winner.

Nzonzi, who has turned out in the Premier League during his career with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, is currently out on loan at Fenerbache.
However, it seems as if the Frenchman’s stint in Turkey could be cut short if either of the three interested parties firm up their reported interest.

Nzonzi plied his trade in the English top-flight between 2009-2015, making a combined 195 Premier League appearances for Rovers and the Potters, via Soccerbase.com.
He’d bring a wealth of elite-level experience to the Hammers midfield, and at the age of 31, appears to have a few high-quality seasons left in the tank.
If the Hammers pipped the Toffees to Nzonzi’s signature, David Moyes wouldn’t be popular with his former employers, but that’ll be the least of his concerns.
He’d be getting an experienced head in the middle of the park, and he’d certainly rival Mark Noble and Declan Rice for a starting spot in front of the back four.
Overall, we feel that a loan or permanent move for Nzonzi would be a sensible piece of business by the Hammers, and now, we’ll have to play the waiting game to see if the club firm up their reported interest.
