Tottenham are interested in signing Issa Diop from West Ham, according to reports.
The Frenchman has emerged as a rising star of the Premier League since signing for the Hammers from Toulouse in 2018, quickly becoming a mainstay under Manuel Pellegrini.
The 22-year old has attracted interest in the past, but the London club have so far been able to stave off any interest in the centre-back.

However Sky Sports now report that Tottenham are considering a move, with Jose Mourinho’s side seeing Diop as an ideal long-term replacement for Jan Vertonghen or Toby Alderweireld, who are 32 and 30 respectively.
West Ham are not keen to sell the defender, and believe is worth more than £50million in today’s market.
Vertonghen is out of contract in the summer, while Alderweireld recent signed a new three-and-a-half year contract.

Issa Diop is a very good player and an exciting talent, and he would fit in well at the new White Hart Lane. He certainly has the quality to succeed at the top level, which is why West Ham should do everything in their power to keep him at the London Stadium.
It could prove difficult though, with Tottenham being able to offer both Champions League football (possibly) and the experience of working under Jose Mourinho.
It all remains to be seen whether Spurs are willing to make a bid that is big enough to tempt David Gold and David Sullivan, and that isn’t exactly clear, so this is one story that Hammers fans will watch with bated breath.
