West Ham are said to be ready to make a move for Southampton defender Cedric Soares in January, but could face competition from Arsenal.
According to TEAMtalk, West Ham are set to make an offer for the Portugal international in January as Manuel Pellegrini looks to strengthen and turn the Hammers’ poor form around.
Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also both reportedly interest in the 29-year-old, and the report suggests the pair have made respective enquiries over the availability of the defender.

Cedric would certainly be a good addition to the squad for Pellegrini, given how Pablo Zabaleta and Ryan Fredericks are currently the only two senior options at right-back.
While West Ham are said to be ready to make a bid in January, a price is not mentioned; though Transfermarkt state his current value to be in the region of £10m.
However the Portugal international is both out of favour and set to be out of a contract next summer at Southampton, meaning the Hammers could snatch him up for a relatively low fee.
