West Ham are still said to be keen on a move for Brentford striker Neal Maupay, but do the Hammers need to sign the Frenchman?
According to the Daily Mail, Maupay is one of a number of players on the Hammers’ wish list in the remaining few days of the transfer window.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to a number of different sides throughout the summer, following his impressive campaign in the Championship for Brentford last season.
But do West Ham need to sign the striker?

Following a summer in which Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez, Marko Arnautovic and Jordan Hugull all left the club, the Hammers clearly needed reinforcements up front.
Club record signing Sebastien Haller looks to be a fine piece of business, but Manuel Pellegrini could be looking to bring in another striking option to really mount a strong push to break into the top six or seven in the league.
Though Maupay is unproven in the Premier League, the Frenchman has found the back of the net consistently in the Championship and, with the service from the Hammers’ attacking options, he would no doubt be able to continue that form in the top flight, should he move to the London Stadium.
