West Ham United are reportedly keen to sign Gary Cahill this summer as the upcoming campaign draws nearer to its kick-off.
The defender is available on a free transfer following his release from Chelsea at the end of last season, and he could yet be poised for a stay in the Premier League.
According to claims from Football Insider, Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is plotting a move for the centre-back, who made only eight appearances under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge last term.
The 33-year-old is, as per the report, not West Ham’s number one target as they bid to land a centre-back before the window slams shut next week.
However, with time running out, it seems Cahill is a man who is under consideration, and he could be set for a short trip across London for the 2019/20 season.
So, what are the pros and cons of West Ham landing the experienced defender? We have taken a look.
