West Ham are set to miss out on the signing of Salomon Rondon, with the striker joining Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang, according to Football Insider.
The Hammers had been linked with bringing in the striker this summer, as Manuel Pellegrini’s looks to sign new faces.
West Ham were believed to have bid £14 million for the Venezuela international, but a move couldn’t be finalised.
Rondon has reportedly agreed terms with Dalian Yifang, exiting West Brom in the process after meeting his £16.5 million release clause.
It will reunite the 29-year-old with Rafa Benitez, who has taken charge of the Super League club.
Rondon was on loan at Newcastle United last season, where he and Benitez helped steer the Magpies to Premier League safety.
The Spaniard has departed St James’ Park, however, much to the anger of Newcastle supporters, and Rondon could again lead the line for him in China.
