West Ham are ready to step up their pursuit of Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik, cited by Sports Witness.
The report states that the Hammers will launch an offer for the 31-year-old in ‘the coming days’, with Manuel Pellegrini extremely keen on bringing his fellow countryman to the London Stadium.

Medel has recently been involved in the Chile side at the Copa America, with the former Cardiff City man featuring in every game, including the 3-0 semi-final defeat to Peru on Wednesday.
A deal for the midfielder could prove to be relatively straightforward, with the player keen on a return to the Premier League and Besiktas willing to sell due to their financial problems.
Medel, who can also fill in at the back when needed, has just 12 months left on his current deal in Turkey, so the Hammers could well agree a relatively low fee with Besiktas, which could see him be the club’s fourth summer signing.
