The brother and agent of Marko Arnautovic has broken his silence about the West Ham striker’s future.
The controversial Austrian has found himself at the centre of drama yet again, asking for a move away from the Hammers.
West Ham are believed to have turned down a €22 million bid from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG, as Arnautovic eyes up the exit door for the second time in six months.
The 30-year-old only signed a new deal in east London back in January, earning him wages of £120,000 a week.
He committed his future to West Ham at that point, but his stance has since changed dramatically.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the player’s agent and brother, Danijel Arnautovic, has given his side of the story:
He’s not a cow or a horse which you bring to market. He’s a highly talented footballer who’s simply being used by West Ham. He’s just a number to them.
West Ham were trying to get rid of Marko right up until the last minute of the January transfer window and they are still trying to sell him right now.
West Ham are still speaking to the Chinese club. He is still for sale and it’s simply a case of how much money West Ham can get for him.
It looks set to be a transfer saga that could grow increasingly ugly, but West Ham supporters have every right to feel frustrated with Arnautovic.
A hugely gifted footballer, his behaviour continually works against him, seeing him fail to reach his potential in the process.
