West Ham have reportedly contacted Salomon Rondon’s agent over a deal to sign the Venezuelan striker this summer.
That is according to a story published on This is Futbol over the weekend, who say that journalist Mark Douglas confirmed the Hammers’ interest during a live Q&A session on The Chronicle website.
Now back at Championship side West Brom after his loan deal with Newcastle United, where he scored 12 in all competitions last season, came to an end, Rondon has been heavily linked with a permanent move back to the Premier League.

The 29-year old has a release clause of £16.5 million in his contract, which has only one year remaining on it, and is expected to receive a number of offers from top-flight clubs with West Ham said to be one of those competing for his signature.
Manuel Pellegrini will be on the lookout for a new forward following the release of Andy Carroll, while Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez have also been linked with moves away from the London Stadium this summer.
As mentioned, there will be competition for the experienced frontman, with Wolves said to be the current favourites to land him and Newcastle hoping to retain his services for next year and beyond.
